ruined Notre-Dame Cathedral in Port-au-Prince
I was speaking with a classmate from Catholic Theological Union this week and he noted that the Archbishop of Port-au-Prince, was killed in the recent earthquake. This video link from the New York Times shows the massive damage to the Cathedral. This will take years to rebuild this shattered nation - we continue to pray for the people of Haiti, and support in ways we are able those here in local congregations and ministries who are now contemplating what action to take to help the Hatian nation.

More News from Haiti via Curacao
It is with sadness that we learned today, while talking to our good friend in ministry in Curacao (Pastor Wilbert with the congregation of La Iglesia de Dios), that he along with parishioners have suffered loss in their immediate families. Pastor Wilbert and many of the parishioners are from Haiti. Pastor Wilbert spoke to us today about returning to Haiti to organize a new ministry to support the orphans from the earthquake. He has asked for your prayers at this time.
More News from Leogane
Rev. Serge was not kidding when he said his mother's town of Leogane needed help. Info from todays's BBC
"The BBC's Mark Doyle, reporting from Leogane, said the village had been left looking worse than most war zones - as if it had been carpet-bombed, then pounded with a relentless artillery barrage."
Unbelievable situation!

January 20 new on Aftershock
A magnitude 6.1 tremor struck north-west of Port-au-Prince at 0603 local time (1103 GMT). We have had no news from our ministry colleagues for several days - we are especially concerned for Rev. Wilbert's family, as well as Rev. Serge's family. Our prayers continue.
Pastor Serge had noted that his mother lived in the town of Leogane. The New York Times reports today that US Marines have arrived there with aid - this is good news, hopefully his mom, Notremise, and family and friends, are getting the help they need.
"Meanwhile, 125 Marines arrived in helicopters in the damaged farming town of Léogâne, south of the capital, delivering cases of water and food."

Haiti Update January 18
Rev. Serge has written to us today advising that things are very dangerous in Haiti now, and his family has reported that "robbers and infections kill people because they are hungry." He also noted that "the prison was crashed down." "People in my home in Haiti doesn't have any food right now and they are afraid of robbers." Rev. Serge noted that his wife's family had three members killed in the quake.
Continue to pray for the people of Haiti.
Rev. Serge is president of pastoral association of Petion-ville, an area devastated by the quake.

Haiti Update
Some of our partners have been asking if we have any recent news from our Hatian ministry colleagues in Curacao and Haiti - at this time all that we know is that our colleagues are either travelling to Haiti, or are now there trying to assess the situation as it pertains to family and friends and ministries. Continue to pray for these men, women and children.
BGEA Rapid Response Team in Haiti (FROM BGEA)
We at SRM thought you would be interested in this post from the Billy Graham Web site with respect to their RRT ministry.
The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (RRT) is now in Haiti. Please pray for the victims of the earthquake, especially those who are still searching through the rubble looking for lost loved ones. Pray also for the BGEA team as they bring hope and comfort in the midst of this disaster.

Haiti Connections
We share with you a prayer concerns for our friend in ministry, Rev. Serge who is President of Pastoral Association of Petion-ville, Haiti. We pray for him and his family, his ministry, and his ministers and congregations at this very difficult time. We have heard from Rev.
